Bill Richardson: Border Fence = Berlin Wall

The Democratic presidential candidate, Bill Richardson compares a proposed border fence on the southern border to the Berlin Wall. He makes the comparison at about the 1:45 mark in the video. Here's the video from Youtube:



This is a ludicrous comparison. A proposed border fence on the southern border is designed to protect American sovereignty and stop the unchecked flow of illegal aliens. The Berlin Wall was designed to stop people from leaving communist East Berlin to the freedom of West Berlin. The difference between the proposed border fence and the Berlin Wall seems rather obvious. It's worrying that a candidate for president doesn't understand that.
