McCain's Open Borders Campaign Adviser
Juan Hernandez, a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States, is one of the biggest supporters of an open border between the United States and Mexico (as well as amnesty for the 12-20 million illegal immigrants of the United States currently). He served in Vicente Fox's cabinet as head of the Office for Mexicans Abroad. And now he serves as McCain's "Hispanic Outreach Director."
While trying to court Republican voters, John McCain has played down his role in the push for "comprehensive immigration reform" by promising that he will secure the border before he does anything about the illegal immigrants living in the country currently. He has said that he has learned from his mistakes, and will not push for legalization for illegal immigrants. However, having an open borders advocate as his Hispanic Outreach Director is more than a bit questionable. It calls into question the sincerity of McCain's change of heart. McCain needs to be asked if he agrees with the open borders opinions of Juan Hernandez.
For more background on Hernandez, take a look at Michelle Malkin's post on the topic.

Perfectly said. I'll read up on Hernandez, although I saw a couple of bits on him elsewhere last night.
McCain cannot push open borders this year. It will destroy his campaign.
Frankly, I think he's smarter than that, so if there's more conservative outrage, maybe he'll let Hernandez go.
Thanks for the heads up.
